Ca' delle Rose Bio

Eco Luxury Bed and Breakfast

Joie de Vivre Hospitality & Slow Living

I collect scraps of sky,
I smile at the new day that is about to shine,
I collect the forces like corals on the beach,
and I treasure it
for the whole day.
Wish it be a splendid day,
one of those days where the sun shines,
inside and outside of you.

Small Things, Stephen Littleword

For all guests

Welcome to Ca' delle Rose Bio Eco Luxury B&B, a private country home with a traditional Venetian architecture, which has been recently renovated and turned into a Bed and Breakfast, complete with wooden floors, visible beams, light airy colours and embroidered linen, ancient porcelains and objects that come from generations of our family. Ca' delle Rose is set in the ancient borough of Gorgo, where hens are free to move around and the residents cultivate their garden, meeting after dinner to talk about their daily lives.

The house is surrounded by a rose garden, cultivated according to the Principles of Biodynamics. Old roses mostly bloom in May and give off a variety of colours and scents. In the romantic rooms of Ca' delle Rose, embrace the slowness and poetry that permeate the senses! Wake up to a rich homemade breakfast prepared with organic products and enjoy your day. Take your time and sit outside in the rose garden with berceau and pergolas. You may even enjoy an evening Ca' delle Rose Aperitif en plein air. You are most welcome at Ca' delle Rose, where you will rediscover the beauty of living in simplicity and harmony.

Comfort room
“Rosa Mundi”

Bed (cm.165x200)
Double Bedroom with private bathroom and corridor total area sq.m. 30

Delicately colourful and welcoming, the Rosa Mundi is a double bedroom, with the upholstered Queen size bed with embroidered linen and quilt or feather duvet; cupboard, Bergère armchairs, music player; a private bathroom with double basins and modern electric shower with radio-music and turkish bath; private staircase and hallway; view on The Secret Garden.
We chose the name ‘Rosa Mundi’ to herald the significant presence of this heritage rose in our secret garden, which is visible from the bedroom windows. The first traces of Rosa gallica ‘versicolor’ or ‘Rosa Mundi’ date back to the 1500 - crimson flowers are striped with white, giving them an attractively fresh appearance.
The name of this exceptional old rose is forever bound with Rosamund Clifford, often called "The Fair Rosamund" or the "Rose of the World". Famed for her beauty and reputed to be the mistress of English king, Henry II of England, and founder of Plantagenet dynasty. A rose with an important history and a significant fragrance.
We love it...and bees too!

On warm days, breakfast will be served in the outdoor sitting room or under the shade of the roses pergola where you can enjoy the morning light and the scents of roses, foxgloves, jasmine, clematis and fruit trees. As you walk around, lively blackbirds and doves… and sometimes even a few timid squirrels will accompany the sound of your steps.

And suddenly the memory returns. The taste was that of the little crumb of madeleine which on Sundays mornings at Combray [...] when I went to say good day to her in her bedroom, my aunt Léonie used to give me, dipping it first in her own cup of real or of lime-flower tea. The sight of the little Madeleine had recalled nothing to my mind before I tasted it [...] But when from a long-distant past nothing subsists, after the people are dead, after the things are broken and scattered, taste and smell alone, more fragile but more enduring, more unsubstantial, more persistent, more faithful, remain poised a long time, like souls, remembering, waiting, hoping, amid the ruins of all the rest; and bear unflinchingly, in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence, the vast structure of recollection.
